The Grand Opening of the Town Square at 77 Beckwith St. N., Smiths Falls happened July 28. Many, many people contributed to making this great community space. It’s wonderful that the vision of Pat and Tom Foulkes for a bandstand has come to life. The Foulkes were active REAL members, and supported many REAL projects over the years. Also within that square are the two pollinator gardens planted by REAL in 2021 as part of our Depave Paradise project. Volunteers helped physically remove Daniel St. pavement to make way for green space. A sign was installed describing Depave at that time, and just this year we installed a sign indicating the gardens’ Monarch Waystation status.
