Get ready for some online auction fun!  Between October 1 and 17 you will have the opportunity to bid on some great items from the comfort of your home, or even on the go from your cell phone.  You will be supporting the great work of REAL, the Rideau Environmental Action League in our first ever Fall Harvest Online Auction.  Many of the items are gently used treasures that have been donated  to the REAL Deal store, and have been set aside for this auction.

How the Auction Works.  REAL is new to online auctions, too, but it is very simple. Just log on to 32Auctions.com and use the keyword “REAL2020” to access this particular auction.  You will be asked to provide your name and email address, but no other identifying information is necessary.  Wait for an email confirmation and then you are good to go!  Browse the items in the auction.  Each auction item has a photo and a description, and some will also have an estimated value.  There will be a starting bid and the required bid increment specified.   Just enter your bid!  You will be notified by email if someone tops your bid so you can be reminded to go back and bid again if you wish.   When the auction closes on October 17, the top bidders will be notified, and can come into the store the following week to pay and collect.   Successful bidders should come during store hours, Wed Oct. 20 to Sat. Oct. 24 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.  We accept payment by cash, debit, Visa or Mastercard at the store, or by etransfer to [email protected].  (Please ask for more details.)

A Great Selection of Items. There are currently almost sixty items on display, with others still being added.  There is a great selection with something for everyone:  lamps, pottery, art, a vacuum, knives, a compressor and more.  Maybe this would be a good opportunity to find a few Christmas gifts!   Remember that while you can browse the items now, actual bidding does not start until 9:00 a.m. on October 1.   More auction items can be added at any time in the process, so if you or your business has a gift certificate or other “prize” to donate to the cause, we would be happy to accept them. Support Environmental Activity in this Community.  REAL normally runs an extensive silent auction at its annual local foods dinner, which sadly, due to the Covid situation, will not be taking place this year.  The dinner was REAL’s big fundraiser for the year, so we need to replace part of that income that makes our environmental programs in our community possible.  Please show your support by taking a look at what we have to offer in this auction, and helping us to spread the word about this new venture.
