Long term exposure to high radon levels increases your risk of developing lung cancer. All homes have some level of radon. It is a naturally occurring colourless, odourless, tasteless gas – the only way to know the level in your home is to test.
November is Radon Action Month. The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit is holding a series of community meetings about radon and how to test in your home. A limited number of free test kits will be available to homeowners at each session.
The Smiths Falls session is at the Health Unit office at 25 Johnston Street on Thursday, November 21 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. See their poster for other sessions in Carleton Place, Gananoque and on Facebook.
