We are pleased that Malcolm Morris, Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Smiths Falls was able to speak to us at our Annual General Meeting July 14.  His presentation was:

The Evolution of the Blue Box Program in Ontario:  Thinking Outside the Box 

Big changes are coming to the program, as the province moves to a system paid for by the producers.  In addition, more communities will be served,  a wider variety of materials will be accepted, more facilities will be included, and there will be more recycling opportunities in public space.   Smiths Falls will be transitioning to the new system July 2023. 

Those in attendance also  had a brief  overview of the fiscal year’s activities, and heard about some more recent REAL developments, before  the usual  AGM business was covered.
