The Smiths Falls Climate Protection Working Group (CPWG) wants to hear from you! The group, established in early 2023,  is creating a local Climate Action Plan, and has created a survey to gather public input.

Municipalities will play a major role in helping Canada achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.  The CPWG is committed to minimizing the harmful impacts of climate change at a local level,  helping the Town and community become leaders in creating awareness, fostering the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and building resilience to adapt to a changing climate.  Peter Au, a found member of REAL and a member of our current Board of Directors, is REAL’s representative to the working group.  Other appointed members are  Joanne Desormeaux, Councillor Peter McKenna, Mayor Shawn Pankow, Peter Au, Sue Brandum from Climate Network Lanark, Steve Gauthier, Nate Morris and Lynda Bradford.
